Bhatkal: Man Falls Into Sea at Bandar Port, Search Operation Continues in Heavy Rain

Bhatkal, Aug 27: On Tuesday night, August 26, around 11:30 pm, a man reportedly fell into the sea from a boat at Bhatkal Bandar Port and has since gone missing.
On Wednesday morning at around 9 am, a specialized rescue team from Gangolli arrived to begin the search. The team also brought along oxygen cylinders for underwater efforts, but these were soon exhausted. Later, local residents joined the operation, continuing the search despite very difficult conditions.
Meanwhile, some locals expressed criticism, claiming that no government officials or ambulance were clearly visible at the site in uniform during the incident. However, this has not been officially confirmed, and it is possible that officials were present but not immediately identifiable.
Heavy rains and rough sea currents have added to the challenges, making the rescue mission difficult. Authorities have not yet released an official statement, while skilled swimmers are being requested to assist in the ongoing search operation.
