Bhatkal Siblings Shine at State-Level Karate Championship in Moodbidri

Bhatkal/Mangaluru, Sep 3: In a proud moment for the town of Bhatkal, three siblings currently studying in Mangaluru have made a mark at the State-Level Karate Championship held in Moodbidri on September 1, 2025.

The event, hosted by the Shorin-Ryu Karate Association in collaboration with Swami’s Strength Training and MK Ananthraj College of Physical Education, saw participation from talented martial artists across Karnataka.

Outstanding Performances by the Siblings:

Umme Kulsum, the youngest sibling and a student at Presidency School, clinched 1st place in Fighting in the under-8 category.

Ismail Nameer (15), a student of Huda Islamia School, Mangaluru, secured 1st place in Kumite (Fight) in his age category.

Hamdan (11), studying at Presidency School, Mangaluru, won 1st place in Kumite and 2nd place in Kata in the under-11 division.

The trio are children of Nisar Ahmed Ruknuddin and Nada, originally from Bhatkal and currently residing in Mangaluru. Their achievements have brought pride not only to their family but also to the local community, inspiring other young students to pursue sports and martial arts.
