Bhatkal Officially Upgraded to City Municipal Council; DC Appointed as Administrator
DC of Uttara Kannada appointed as the new administrator for Bhatkal CMC.
The Bhatkal Town Municipal Council (TMC) has been officially renamed as Bhatkal City Municipal Council (CMC), effective immediately. This change is part of the state government’s ongoing administrative updates.
Along with the renaming, the District Commissioner of Uttara Kannada has been appointed as the administrator of the newly designated Bhatkal CMC. This appointment ensures that administrative functions and municipal governance continue smoothly under experienced leadership.
The state government had issued official orders regarding this change on December 24, 2025, following prior notifications in November 2025. The decision also included similar administrative adjustments in other municipalities across the state.
