Bhatkal Artist Darshan Naik to Represent Karnataka at National-Level Painting Contest
Visual arts student wins state-level competition under the theme “Viksit Bharat Ke Rang”

Bhatkal: Darshan Mahabaleshwar Naik, a talented young artist from Jali in Bhatkal, has brought pride to the region by winning first place in a state-level painting competition. The event, held under the theme “Viksit Bharat Ke Rang,” was part of a nationwide contest conducted across 75 centers between September 17 and October 2.
Representing the student category, Darshan stood out among participants from across Karnataka and will now represent the state at the upcoming national-level competition. The state-level rounds took place in Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
Currently pursuing his Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) in Bengaluru, Darshan received a cash prize of ₹25,000 for his winning entry.
This isn’t Darshan’s first recognition. In 2024, he had also secured first place in a graffiti and wall-painting competition organized to mark National Voters’ Day at the state level.
Following his latest achievement, several educational institutions, community organizations, and leaders from Bhatkal Taluk have congratulated Darshan for his continued success in the field of visual arts.
