Bengaluru Traffic Cop Helps Fasting Passengers During Vehicle Check
Constable balances law enforcement with compassion, arranges Iftar for stranded passengers
Bengaluru: A traffic police constable in Bengaluru has been widely appreciated for his thoughtful gesture after helping passengers observing the Ramadan fast during a routine vehicle inspection.
The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Adigodi Traffic Police Station, where officers had stopped a car for having illegal sun film on its windows, which violates traffic rules. Following standard procedure, the police imposed a fine of Rs 1,000, which the passengers accepted without اعتراض.
By the time the checking process was completed, it was close to sunset—the time for Iftar, when Muslims break their day-long fast during Ramadan. The passengers, who had been waiting on the roadside, had no access to food or water.
Recognising the situation, traffic constable Nagaraj stepped in and arranged food and water so the passengers could break their fast on time. His act reflected a balance between enforcing the law and showing empathy towards citizens.
The gesture soon gained attention on social media, with many praising the constable for demonstrating that duty and compassion can go hand in hand.
The passengers also expressed their gratitude, saying they accepted their mistake but deeply appreciated the officer’s kindness.
