The ambitious plan includes:

  • Tunnel roads
  • Elevated corridors
  • Double-decker flyovers
  • Buffer roads
  • LED streetlight installations
  • City beautification and decorative lighting

“The goal is to bring administration closer to the people and ensure responsive governance,” said Shivakumar, adding that the city has now been divided into five municipal zones to improve service delivery and accountability.

₹1 Lakh Crore Spent Annually on Welfare Schemes

Highlighting the government’s broader public welfare agenda, Shivakumar noted that:

  • ₹52,000 crore is being spent annually on the five guarantee schemes, aimed at reducing the impact of inflation and securing basic needs.
  • ₹20,000 crore is being allocated each year to provide free electricity to farmers.
  • Altogether, nearly ₹1 lakh crore is invested annually in welfare and public benefit programs.

Property Documentation Drive & Urban Reforms

The Deputy CM also encouraged citizens to participate in the ongoing property documentation drive, urging them to get their e-Khata documents and convert their B Khata properties to A Khata for better legal and civic recognition.

Addressing concerns about Civic Amenities (CA) sites, Shivakumar revealed that a new policy framework is being developed to resolve longstanding issues in this area.

He further announced that several responsibilities previously held by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) have now been shifted to the newly created Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) to streamline governance.

The event was attended by key officials including Minister Ramalinga Reddy and GBA Chief Commissioner Mahadeshwar Rao.
