Bengaluru Biker Wears Cooking Pot as Helmet to Dodge Traffic Fine
Video of the unusual “helmet” goes viral; police warn riders against unsafe stunts.

Bengaluru: In a strange yet amusing incident, a biker in Bengaluru was caught on camera wearing a cooking pot instead of a helmet in an apparent attempt to avoid a traffic fine. The incident took place near Roopena Agrahara and quickly went viral after a passerby recorded the scene and shared it online.
The rider, seen balancing a metal pot (karahi) on his head, seemed unfazed as he rode through the busy street. Onlookers couldn’t help but laugh, while even some traffic officers appeared momentarily surprised by the creative though unsafe “jugaad.”
Social media users reacted with a mix of humor and concern. While some found the biker’s act funny, others criticized it for being reckless. One comment summed up the general sentiment: “A pot belongs in the kitchen, not on the road!”
Following the viral video, the Karnataka Police took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a reminder about road safety. “Such ‘jugaad’ methods to escape fines are risky and unacceptable,” the post read. “A helmet is not just a rule it’s protection for your life. Bengaluru’s traffic is tough, but your head is far more fragile. Stay alert, stay safe.”
The video has since sparked renewed discussion on road safety awareness and the need for responsible riding habits.
