Speaking at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, Horatti recalled that during the previous winter session, 11 MLCs discussed the region’s issues for over five hours. This year too, he said, uninterrupted time will be allotted after the Question Hour to ensure meaningful debate on long-standing demands.

Key topics include the progress of major irrigation projects such as Krishna Upper Bank, Mahadayi, and Kalasa-Banduri, as well as forest land encroachment, rehabilitation challenges, farmers’ problems, and strategies for employment generation. Horatti added that proceedings would not be adjourned until discussions are fully concluded.

The 157th Council session consists of 10 working days and has already received 1,649 questions from members.

Meanwhile, the Business Advisory Committee has also decided that the Legislative Assembly will begin its discussions on North Karnataka issues starting Tuesday.
