Annual General Meeting of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal

Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): The Annual General Meeting of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal was held this morning at the Tanzeem Hall at 10:30 AM. During the session, the General Secretary, Maulana Abdul Raqeeb MJ Nadwi, presented the yearly report highlighting the organization’s efforts and activities.
At the outset, officials reminded members about the over a century-long service of the institution in the field of social and community welfare. They emphasized that the progress achieved so far has been possible due to the support and guidance of the administrative body and urged members to continue extending their cooperation to strengthen the organization further.
National Highway Expansion Delay
A major issue raised in the meeting was the incomplete expansion of the National Highway, pending for more than a decade. The deteriorating condition of the road has led to frequent accidents, causing loss of lives. Officials said that potholes and the absence of service roads force local vehicles to ply directly on the highway, resulting in severe risk, especially at sharp turns. The members strongly demanded an early completion of the expansion project to ensure public safety.
Barricades Near Eidgah Cause Problems
Another concern highlighted was regarding the barricades near the Eidgah ground on Bandar Road. These barricades have created serious inconvenience for daily commuters. Since parking difficulties push people to leave their vehicles on the roadside, traffic congestion increases, leading to further chaos. Despite repeated requests in the past, the issue remains unresolved. The meeting once again urged the authorities to remove these barricades immediately.
Pending Shift to the New Fish Market
The gathering also discussed the long-pending matter of the newly built Fish Market, which, despite being constructed several years ago, has not yet been made operational. Fish trade continues at the old market instead. Members called for a quick shifting of vendors to the newly built facility, while also considering retaining the old market for additional use. The organization expressed hope that the authorities will act soon to make the new market fully functional.
Review of Committees and Participation Concerns
The session also included a detailed presentation of the work carried out by different committees under the Tanzeem during the past year. The progress reports and decisions of the administrative body were shared with the general members, who largely appreciated the efforts. Both the President of the Tanzeem and the General Secretary addressed queries from members and provided satisfactory clarifications.
However, it was noted with regret that despite prior announcements, the participation of general members was lower than expected. Moreover, the absence of several administrative committee members and conveners of sub-committees was a cause of concern, and disappointment was expressed over their non-attendance.
Conclusion
The annual general session concluded with the reaffirmation of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem’s commitment to continue serving the community of Bhatkal through social, educational, and civic initiatives, while also pressing authorities for resolving long-pending local issues.
