Bhatkal: Anjuman Girls’ English Medium High School, Nawayat Colony, has announced that Zainab Safa, daughter of Abdul Samee Gawai, and Shiza, daughter of Nadeem Ahmed Shabandri, have been selected for the Dukhtar-e-Anjuman Gold Medal Award. The announcement was made during the school’s annual gathering held on Sunday, December 7. Both students will jointly receive the honour for the academic year 2025–26.

The annual gathering was celebrated with enthusiasm, recognising students who excelled in academics, co-curricular activities, and sports. While several awards were distributed during the event, the Dukhtar-e-Anjuman Gold Medal will be formally presented during the special Anjuman Day ceremony on December 14.

Students delivered an impressive series of performances, highlighting their diverse talents. Speakers at the event encouraged young girls to overcome societal barriers, pursue education with confidence, and stay committed to their ambitions.

The program began at 10:00 a.m. with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by ninth-grade student Rauza, followed by a Naat and the school anthem. Fathima Hafsa welcomed the guests, and Headmistress Saba Damda presented the annual report.

Chief guest Dr. Naiyyarin (MBBS) highlighted the need for girls to work hard, develop their abilities, and challenge outdated perceptions. Guest of honour Mrs. Vinutha H, Block Resource Person (Bhatkal), emphasised that education and consistent effort are key to achieving success.

Session president Ms. Seema Kashimji praised the school’s progress, the commitment of students, and the dedication of teachers in her address. Mrs. Aysha Fasiha delivered the vote of thanks.

The event concluded with colourful cultural performances, including dramas, poetry recitations, patriotic songs, traditional dances, and creative displays. With the collaborative efforts of teachers, students, parents, and the school administration, the annual gathering ended on a joyful and memorable note.
