Al-Shama Sports & Welfare Association Donates Water Cooler to Government Urdu School in Tengingundi

In a gesture of community support, the Al-Shama Sports & Welfare Association, Tengingundi has donated a water cooler to the Government Urdu School in memory of its former student, late Shah Faisal, son of Hafizur Rahman Dangi.
The new facility was formally inaugurated on Friday afternoon by the Association President, Mr. Iqbal Bengali, during a brief gathering attended by teachers, students, and community members. The school staff and students expressed gratitude to the Association while also reminding the community of the school’s ongoing needs.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Bengali highlighted the challenges faced by Urdu-medium schools, noting that many have been forced to shut down due to declining student numbers. He commended the dedicated efforts of the teaching staff at Tengingundi for keeping the school active and effective.
“Teachers are the real architects of the students’ future. Many of the alumni of this very school have gone on to pursue higher education and are now serving across the world. This is the result of the teachers’ commitment,” he said, assuring continued support from the Association.
General Secretary of the Association, Maulana Shahid Dangi Nadvi, stressed the importance of balancing modern education with essential religious knowledge. He reminded students of the value of attending evening Madrasah (Shabina Maktab) to strengthen their basic understanding of Islamic obligations. He also emphasized that since local children study in this very school, parents and former students should remain committed to its development.
Senior community member Abdul Fattah Bapu recalled the achievements of past students who began their educational journey here before excelling in various professional fields. He appealed to alumni to come forward and extend financial and moral support to the school.
The program began with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Mufizah bint Mudassir, followed by a Na’at presented by Shireen bint Ashfaq Mulla, and a welcome speech by Maulana Abdul Aleem Abu Nadvi. Students also presented a welcome song to greet the guests. Senior teacher, Master Mushtaq, conducted the proceedings, while the event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Headmistress.
Among those present were Vice President Rahmatullah Usmani, Al-Shama Gulf representatives Istiyaq Usmani, Abdul Salam Usmani, Imdullah Bengali, School Committee President Hassan Akbar, Zameer Mulla, Vice Secretary Inam ul Hasan Abu, along with other dignitaries and well-wishers.
