Air India Extends Senior Citizen Discounts to International Flights with Additional Benefits

Air India has recently announced an extension of its senior citizen discount scheme to international flights. Previously available only on domestic routes with a 25% discount on base fares, the offer now includes international travel benefits for passengers aged 60 years and above.
Senior citizens booking international flights on Air India can now receive up to a 10% discount on base fares across all cabin classes. Additionally, the airline offers one free date change on tickets, where customers only need to pay any fare differences. Another key benefit is the additional baggage allowance of either 10 kilograms or one extra piece per passenger. For instance, economy class passengers can carry up to 40 kg, premium economy up to 45 kg, and business class up to 50 kg by weight. Alternatively, the piece concept allows economy and premium economy travelers to bring two bags of 23 kg each, while business class travelers can carry two bags of 32 kg each.
To avail of these benefits, customers must select the ‘Senior Citizen’ concession option during booking. It is mandatory for passengers to carry a valid photo ID showing their date of birth, as Air India will verify age proof during ticketing and check-in. Failure to provide valid ID can result in a penalty of twice the ticket fare plus taxes, and boarding may be denied at the gate.
The offer can be combined with other discounts during booking but is not valid for tickets purchased using points.
