Mangaluru, October 6: Passengers on an Air India Express flight from Dubai to Mangaluru were left angry and disappointed on Saturday evening after discovering that their checked-in baggage had not arrived with them.

According to reports, the flight was originally scheduled to depart from Dubai at 12 noon but took off only around 2:30 PM due to delays, eventually landing in Mangaluru at 7:20 PM. However, the real shock came at the baggage claim area, where several passengers were informed that their luggage was left behind in Dubai due to “space constraints” on the aircraft.

Airline staff at the Mangaluru International Airport assured passengers that the missing bags would be sent on the next flight from Dubai on Sunday morning and would be delivered directly to their homes. But this explanation only fueled further anger among the already frustrated travelers.

“If there was no space, we should have been informed before boarding,” one passenger said. “We had full tickets and proper baggage tags. How can they leave our bags behind?”

Several passengers pointed out that their bags contained clothes and essential items, and some were only visiting for a day. “What’s the point of sending the bags tomorrow when we have to return tonight?” questioned another passenger.

Some frequent flyers also alleged that such issues are becoming increasingly common with Air India Express. “This is the third or fourth time this has happened to me,” one regular traveler claimed. Others demanded compensation for perishable items and inconvenience caused.

After a heated exchange at the airport, the airline staff collected the contact numbers and addresses of affected passengers for home delivery of the luggage. Still, most travelers remained dissatisfied and accused the airline of poor management and repeated negligence.
