New Delhi, (Fikrokhabar News): The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has issued an urgent public appeal to Muslims across the country to immediately upload the details of their registered auqaf (Waqf properties) on the government’s UMEED Portal before the December 5, 2025 deadline.

This call follows the recent passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, which introduces new requirements under Section 3B of the law. While the Act recognizes previously registered auqaf as valid, it now makes it mandatory to re-upload their current details on the Unified Minority Mapping and Empowerment for Education, Employment, and Development (UMEED) Portal.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Muhammad Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, General Secretary of the AIMPLB, emphasized the gravity of the matter, calling it “the most critical and sensitive issue currently facing Indian Muslims” regarding the protection of their religious and charitable properties—mosques, madrasas, khanqahs, graveyards, dargahs, imambaras, and other waqf assets.

Although the Supreme Court has provided temporary relief on certain provisions, it has not stayed the requirement to upload data on the UMEED Portal. The AIMPLB has already approached the Court for an extension of the deadline, but with time running out, the Board is urging immediate community action.

“If this uploading is not completed by the deadline, such auqaf may lose their legal protection and status as registered properties,” said Mujaddidi.

Nationwide Call to Establish Help Desks

The AIMPLB has called upon religious leaders, scholars, community organizations, and social workers to set up local Help Desks across districts, tehsils, and blocks to assist with the uploading process. These Help Desks should preferably be managed by individuals with technical knowledge, given the online nature of the task.

The Board has already formed State-Level Committees for the Protection of Auqaf, which are actively working to train individuals and set up support systems. However, Mujaddidi stressed the need for grassroots-level mobilization, given the limited time and possible complications that may arise after the deadline.

Failure to comply could result in:

  • Loss of registered status for auqaf
  • Requirement for mutawallis (caretakers) to approach waqf tribunals
  • Legal penalties or fines
  • Increased difficulty in future registrations

Action Plan and Support

The AIMPLB has promised continued guidance through:

  • Training videos
  • Help Desks
  • Legal and technical advisory support

Community members are also advised to document any technical issues they encounter and submit written reports to the respective State Waqf Board offices, so that legal remedies can be pursued.

A detailed form listing required documents for uploading has also been made available along with the appeal.

A Religious and Civic Duty

The AIMPLB has urged Muslims across India to consider this task not just a legal formality, but a religious and communal responsibility, vital for the protection and future security of waqf properties in their areas.

“This process must be carried out in an organized and timely manner, In Sha Allah, with the unity and cooperation of the community,” concluded Mujaddidi.
