New Delhi,— The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has appealed to Muslims across the country to urgently complete the registration of Waqf properties on the Union Government’s UMID portal before the December 5 deadline.

AIMPLB General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi said the time remaining is very short, and only a small portion of Waqf assets has been uploaded so far. He added that although the Board is trying its best to request an extension of the deadline from the government, there is no confirmation yet. “If the date is not extended, we are left with just one week,” he said.

Mujaddidi urged community members to prioritise this task without delay and actively participate in ensuring that all Waqf properties are registered. He stressed the importance of taking responsibility at the district, block and panchayat levels to complete the process efficiently.

He cautioned that neglecting this obligation could lead to significant losses. Protecting Waqf properties, he said, is essential to honour the contributions of ancestors who dedicated these assets for community welfare.

Mujaddidi also appealed for prayers, asking Allah to grant the community strength to safeguard these properties and prevent any attempts by others to misuse or encroach upon them.
