AIMPLB Calls for Nationwide Shutdown on October 3 to Protest New Waqf Act

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has announced a call for a nationwide protest on Friday, October 3, 2025. The shutdown, scheduled to take place from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, is being held to express strong opposition to the new Waqf Act 2025.
In a public announcement, the board has requested members of the Muslim community across the country to keep their businesses and offices closed during these six hours as a peaceful form of protest. The AIMPLB’s call emphasizes that essential services, particularly medical stores, should remain open to serve the public and are not part of the shutdown.
The protest aims to draw national attention to the community’s serious concerns regarding the new legislation. Under the banner “Save Waqf, Save Constitution,” the AIMPLB is framing the protest as a necessary step to protect the rights related to the administration of Waqf properties in the country.
The board has been using its official social media channels to spread awareness and encourage a unified, peaceful response from the community.
