Madinah: At least 42 Indian Umrah pilgrims are feared dead after a devastating road accident in Saudi Arabia early Monday. The passenger bus, carrying worshippers from Mecca to Madinah, collided with a diesel tanker around 1:30 am IST in an area identified as Mufrihat, according to initial reports.
Sources said most of the passengers were from Hyderabad and included women and children. The group had completed their Umrah rituals in Mecca and was traveling toward Madinah when the crash occurred. Many passengers are believed to have been asleep at the time of the accident.
