19 Dead in Tragic Bus-Truck Collision in Telangana
A tipper lorry carrying gravel crashed into a public bus near Chevella in Ranga Reddy district on Monday morning, killing 19 passengers and injuring four others.

A devastating road accident claimed 19 lives in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district on Monday when a gravel-laden tipper lorry collided head-on with a passenger bus near Chevella. Four others sustained injuries in the incident that occurred during morning hours.
The Telangana Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus was traveling from Tandur to Hyderabad when the tipper truck hit it with full force. The impact caused the gravel load to spill onto the bus, trapping several passengers inside the vehicle.
Among the 19 deceased, 10 were women. The bus driver also lost his life in the crash, police officials confirmed. According to the bus conductor, there were 72 passengers on board at the time of the accident.
Rescue teams used earthmovers and heavy machinery to remove the gravel and pull out passengers trapped under the debris. All injured passengers were evacuated and shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed top officials, including Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy, to conduct rescue operations on an emergency basis. He also instructed several ministers to visit the accident site immediately.
The Chief Minister ordered that critically injured passengers be transported to Hyderabad for advanced medical care.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision. Road safety experts have raised concerns about the increasing number of accidents involving heavy vehicles on state highways.
