HONAWAR — Panic gripped the Manki area early this morning when news of a 10-year-old boy’s abduction spread rapidly through the neighborhood. In what authorities are calling a coordinated community response, the child was safely recovered from Bhatkal within hours. The incident has left parents and guardians deeply concerned about children’s safety in the region.

According to details, Arshan, son of Arafat Faqih Ahmed, was waiting outside his home for his school bus when two men on a motorcycle approached him. They told the boy, “Your school bus has already left. We’ll drop you at school.” Trusting their words, the child got on the bike with them, and the men headed toward Mavana Kate.

Hassan Bapa Hassan Bapu, General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Muslimeen Manki, spoke to Fikrokhabar about the incident. “This happened around 8:30 in the morning. The kidnappers initially deceived the boy. When they reached near Bashah Colony Second Cross, they covered their faces with masks,” he explained.

He added that one of the men got off the motorcycle and boarded a bus heading to Bhatkal with the child, while the other stayed behind with the bike. “However, the kidnapper soon realized that traveling with the boy could be risky. He got off the bus during the journey and left the child alone on board,” Hassan Bapa said.

When the bus reached Bhatkal bus stand, the frightened boy began crying. A passerby noticed his distress and contacted his school, Goal International School. Members of Jamaat-e-Muslimeen Manki immediately coordinated with their contacts in Bhatkal, took custody of the child, and brought him safely back to Manki.

Police quickly responded to the incident and began investigating the scene. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage to track down the suspects.

Following this alarming incident, Jamaat-e-Muslimeen Manki has issued an urgent appeal to all parents and guardians. They are asking families to closely monitor children going to school, advise them to stay inside their homes until the school bus arrives, and strongly warn them never to trust strangers.
