₹2 Lakh Stolen from Parked Car in Broad Daylight Smash-and-Grab Theft in Kundapur
A contractor lost ₹2 lakh in cash after thieves broke his car window and fled with the money in a busy area near Tallur Junction on Tuesday evening.

Kundapur, November 5: A contractor from Kenchanur fell victim to a brazen theft when miscreants smashed his car window and made away with ₹2 lakh in cash on Tuesday evening near Tallur, Kundapur.
The victim, Gundu Shetty, had withdrawn the cash from a local bank in Tallur earlier that day. After collecting the money, he placed it inside his car and parked the vehicle in front of a residential complex near Tallur town. He then walked to his rented accommodation nearby.
When Shetty returned to his car approximately 10 to 15 minutes later, he discovered that the right-side window had been shattered. The cash he had kept in the dashboard was gone.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, as it occurred in broad daylight in one of the busiest parts of Tallur Junction. The area is surrounded by residential apartments, commercial buildings, and public transport stops including a bus stand and auto stand.
Police suspect that the thieves may have tracked Shetty from the bank after witnessing his cash withdrawal. The quick execution suggests the crime was planned and carried out by people familiar with the area.
Kundapur Sub-Inspector Nanja Naik, along with his investigation team, visited the crime scene shortly after the incident was reported. They have collected evidence and gathered information from witnesses in the vicinity.
A formal case has been registered at the Kundapur police station, and investigations are currently underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Authorities are advising the public to exercise caution when carrying large amounts of cash and to remain vigilant about their surroundings, especially after bank transactions.
